Mind repair. When your car breaks down you go the garage and they find a part to replace the broken one. Here are seven “broken” mindsets and the parts below to replace them!
1. Uh Oh-here we go again. (forecasting your loss ahead of time!)
2. I can’t get my first serve in! (meaning-I am a terrible player, I cannot get my first serve in)
3. My opponent is a cheater. (your loss excuse served up on a silver platter for you)
4. The ref is making horrible calls. (see above)
5. I have a horrible seed in this tournament. (so?)
6. I cannot kill a shot to save my life! (I am not playing well)
7. I am not playing well. (I am not playing well).
Replacement winning thoughts
1. Okay-just get the serve back.
2. Better short first serve than a bad first serve. I still have a great second serve.
3. The best medicine for a cheater is to win the next three rallies.
4. The best medicine for a bad call is to win the next three rallies.
5. The best medicine for a bad seed in the draw is to “beat’em when you meet’em”!
6. I do not have to kill the ball to win. I do have to play smart and not let the floor beat me!
7. I have to hang in there and keep fighting. Good things happen to those who do not quit! Quitting means no chance! Competing means I have a chance!
Go get’em Tigers!!
