I love meeting people who love racquetball. Yesterday I saw a young lady who I think will be a great player if she chooses to stay in this game. She won her division but was on the court constantly.
She played anyone and everyone. I wish I could say she was a USA player, but I think she is from another country. I love seeing up and coming talent like that with great attitudes.
When those things happen I give an “atta boy or atta girl” to these athletes, like I did to this young lady yesterday.
How to see future champions: Not hard to see-sheer love of the game and practice ethics are two traits the great ones have. Their competitors are the folks who practice but who maybe are not quite as focused in practice.
Do you love racquetball?
No, I mean do you really love racquetball?
If the answer is yes-get in there and get practicing. Find time to get on the court and perfect your craft. Get the best coaching you can, work hard, and get in there. Oh, and do not forget to somehow record those practice notes. The things you discover in practice, need to be recorded in case you forget. Use old school journals or iPads or phones or whatever but record it. Those with photographic memories are excluded!
