Want Workouts or Justice?

It is easy to judge others’ behavior. It is competition and at my old age I have come to realize two competitors in small box will compete hard and the gray area will be exploited; sooner or later. In a weird way, it is sort of a merit badge, that someone thinks they have to cheat to beat you. They really do think you’re a good player and they need every point or they will lose.
It is never fun to get cheated out of a match.
My son was 14 when he saw a guy blatantly cheat me out of match point in a money tournament.
My son said, “How can he sleep at night?” My response, “Son, he will sleep like a baby, but I won’t!”
I used to play every week and the guy I played was not a cheater but he was good for at least five rally hinders per game because he did not move.
I called it Arizona rules since many people play outdoor here and they just do not move go give an opponent a shot from the back. I decided to “soldier” through our matches because he was a smart player and very good in the front court.
This puts pressure on me to be more accurate on return of serve. I also know if we ever played in a tournament with a ref I have five points right off the bat with rally hinders being called!
Bottom line is I needed the workouts more than I needed justice!
