It is a great day when these come across my desk-(I’ll paraphrase and change some things to protect identity!)
Coach–” I got an awful draw and got matched up against the guy who won the tournament one week before I started your monthly program. Well, I beat him yesterday and it was not close. I played very great, executed down the line shots and they were much crisper due to the technique secrets you taught me and I kept him off balance with my serves. Glad to see the (my) practice paying off!”
And this..”Coach, you are a genius, My serves are on fire and I am beating people I never beat before!”
This one from a well-known pro-Wow-I make amazing progress every time I come and spend time training with you!
And this.”Good feedback… I’ve never gotten more than a handful of points off XYZ before. Now I’m pushing him!”
I love it when players begin to learn how to play pain free and employ better footwork and mechanics. From the outside looking in, folks do not always understand what I do when I coach folks up. I am teaching players to coach themselves and how to adjust each rally. I am constantly looking for ways to improve my athlete’s games. through observation, footwork, and video study. One lesson does not do it as well as monthly, week in and week out feedback, be it in-person, or remote via video. That way one keeps improving!
