Reverse the thinking and your backhand won’t be stinking! Forehand vs backhand mechanics. Is the backhand really that radically different than the forehand? I use Loom and video both have wheels on a video so you can run video back and forward. Run the forehand backward and you have a backhand. Therefore the footwork and mechanics should be the same. That goes for the contact points as well. I think some people treat the backhand as if it was some alien motion that is unnatural to mankind. I believe in most cases it will be your stronger side if you play long enough. That is because there are fewer moving parts on the backhand side and your eye is often in contact longer with the ball on your backhand side.
Here is a cool backhand tip-for the grip-pull a sword straight out of the scabbard-(pretend your racquet is a sword) you will have a backhand grip. There are two ways to hit the backhand-the first accents the torso more and the second accents the legs. Tall and long legged players should use legs where an abbreviated swing can be used with shorter players. One swing and one grip does not fit all.
The forehand power comes from your side closest to the backwall, not the front wall, assuming your feet are to the side wall. That has to be the same on the backhand side! The reason folks have backhand issues is, they have to reverse everything from the forehand side!
