Is this situation really cheating?
I watched a junior match some months ago with a blatant cheat going on. I watched a Dad say nothing while little junior scammed the referee. The other Dad went beserk but the two kids on the court seemed impervious to what was going on behind them. Maybe Junior did not cheat but thought his short serve was an ace. The opponent did not seem to mind. They played on. Easy to call it cheating outside the court but from the inside-maybe not. I see this on every level of play. Sometimes not only the ref misses calls but so do the players. Here is what should have happened in a perfect world.
Parent A upon seeing his preciousness miss a blatant call that he knew was incorrect should have had his child at the very least replay the point and at the most correct level, told his child he lost the rally, and not win that point. However, he showed the folks watching he was more interested in his son winning that what was correct.
Parent B who went nuts probably should have taken the high road as his own son was not aware of any problem. That would have been in a perfect world. I realized while watching that match………our world is not perfect!
I know I know–I’m a little late to the party on that observation in the last sentence!
