Stage fright-if you play racquetball you have had some sort of this. Performance angst leads to the dreaded “choke”. Here are some ways to beat the Choke-
1. Practice mental rehearsal. Do not wait to practice focus in a tournament but work on it in practice. Just like any other skill, focus can be worked on.
2. One way to practice focus is to read the label on the ball . Another is to put a mark on a racquetball and play matches. Work on reading that mark.
3. Imagine your mind as a pond. Keep the surface smooth with no ripples.
4. Identify a calming form of music and listen to it. It will calm you down before matches.
5. Hire a sports shrink. I use former USA team member and racquetball pro, Toni in 90%mental. https://buff.ly/2VKnT0H
6. Practice deep breathing and focus rituals between rallies.
There are many more but these will get you started!
