This one drifted across my desk-again will paraphrase to protect the innocent; but this occurs all over the world on racquetball courts frequently. “My opponent never kills the ball but hits it so I have to move through him or around him to get to a shot. After he hits a shot he slides slightly toward the ball to block my vision. I doubt if a ref would call a hinder but I get tired after racing out to a good lead. Dear Help me–
Welcome to racquetball! I am thinking your shot selection or execution might need improvement. If your opponent is directing traffic while you hustle from corner to corner, you need to get them out of center court. Ceiling balls will do that. You also should switch your pattern of offensive shots on the run to throwing up some defensive shots too. This will loosen up that center court clogger and make him have to cover the deep court. A shot you would do well to hit from the front court is the z ball. That will also send opponents scurrying to the back court and get them out of your way! I also think you may be hitting the side walls too much and need to switch to more one wall shots from the back court! Loosen up that center court clogger with some great rotor rooter defensive shots!
Go Get’em and skip the full contact thing when you employ the ceiling ball!!
