Coach-make my training schedule for today please!
I get this one from athletes but it is an impossible request to answer unless I know what you do every day for a (fill in the blank) job, school, requirements, family, relationships, etc. So lets look at it this way.
1. Start with your most important obligation-family, relationships
2. Spiritual obligations (maybe that should be #1)
3. Work, school, or professional obligations
4. Racquetball Training
4a. Skill training (most important)
4b. Strength training
4c. Flexibility and movement training
4d. Competitive play
4e. Cardiovascular training
Now divide these tasks up daily. If you talk to a pro and they are honest with you, most of them do not play competitive practice matches every day but they do play at least two-three times per week.
Once you have made your schedule be prepared to break the schedule. All sorts of obstacles destroy the best of time planning. Go with plan b. For example you are on your way to the club for your practice match and there is a car accident and you cannot make your time. Call your opponent and tell them and when you get to the club have a plan b in mind. Be prepared to skimp on 4, not 1, 2, or 3.
Go get’em tigers!!
