Friday-played some geezer ball with my sparring partner at 4, drove out to my secret lair and taught an up and coming young player and got home circa 8pm. Hit the office and broke down video for three players about to play in tournaments.
Not playing these days due to health issues but staying active with walking and stationary bike
Saturday-phone started early as the time changes means I get up at 8am eastern! Three junior doubles players in Nebraska–all winning their matches!
Three players in South Carolina-all winning!
(Present day updates: Still coaching online matches all over the world–1am up to coach two athletes in China World games two days after heart surgery!!)
Got home in time to get some video of amazing players from South America! Began the process of working with coaches there. I still read video for a few coaches in Bolivia.
Back to the computer and began breaking down video pouring in from all of these players.
Observations: Tons of improvement. Very encouraged to see the athletes take what I’m doing and go with it. Amazing talent in South America.
Many of the athletes have shot selection issues more than mechanical issues. That is a great thing! The mechanics and footwork are the items that demand the most work! Shot selection is much easier to fix! My website has a new limited offer to get more people into a program of improvement so they do not become professional lesson takers.
Comment from one of my newest athletes: (paraphrasing)” Wow-serves were cooking. Moved past the first two round acing folks on both sides of the court. Thanks Coach!”
From another: “You were right on the positioning feedback in doubles. Once we corrected we began winning matches in our round robin tournament. Thanks Coach!”
From me: Weekends are never over! I have videos to read on my desk!!! Onward and upward!
