It’s not about you! Team Racquetball is a great concept that has really impacted Racquetball for the better. Here is the most important thing to remember if you are on a high school, college, or national team.
Your decision to not work as hard as you can affects the entire team. When you stop improving you hurt the team. Even if you are not a starter, when you cannot push the person in front of you, you hurt the team.
Your behavior affects the team. With your team’s logo on your back everything you do is under the microscope of others.
You wear a uniform that reflects on your institution, your teammates, your racquet sponsor and your coaches.
When you mess up they do not say “there is Johnny or Joanie messing up” They will say there is one of those (fill in blank with school, company or country’s name) players messing up.
You also reflect on every person who has worn the uniform before you. Your actions reflect on them as well.
It should be an honor for you to represent your country or school and if you work hard your institution will be honored by you!
