You gotta believe if you wanna achieve!

It is easy to doubt your coach when you are losing. Once you pick a coach, look for them to continue to correct your technique and footwork. (if they are a good coach) Each workout should be a learning process, more than a drilling process.

Each time you work with coach you should be learning new things; not rehashing the old things. Each session should result in new strategies, and new outlooks. You will learn something new or be re-centered by something “old” that was taught to you.

The bottom line is you should be improving. Any coach who tells you that you are technically perfect, does not understand technique because nobody I have ever seen in racquetball is technically perfect.

Rookie coaches make the mistake of focusing on conditioning and strength training rather than technique and footwork. That is because footwork is not understood and it takes time to understand it unless you are taught by a great coach. Then you will arrive at that much faster!

Oh, and re-read the above-and check out your coach. Make sure they are not over-ply-o-ing and working you out hard instead of coaching you! Then thank them for being so good!!
